A Panchayat is a collective of elected representatives formed to manage the administrative affairs of Panchayat Raj institutions. As far as a Grama Panchayat is concerned, it is the primary body that implements the decisions of the Grama Sabha and carries out day-to-day administration. The main components of a Panchayat are: President: The head of the Panchayat. They preside over meetings and oversee the overall activities of the Panchayat.
